Short CV of Rastislav Mucha with pointers to some SW activities (Python, Zope, Plone, R, GRASS, SciPy, CLIPS, scientific computing, ...)

Short professional CV:

  • 1992 M.Sc. (Mgr.) at Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University (MFF UK=FMP CU) in Prague (former Czechoslovakia) in Border Areas of Physics with specialization in Astrophysics: Relativistic Astrophysics (Black Holes)
  • 1992--1997 Astronomical Institute FMP CU (Czech Republic) and Max Planck Society working group Dust in Star-Forming Regions at Friedrich Schiller University in Jena (Germany): Simulations of early stages of formation of planetary systems
  • 1997--2000 end of scientific career mainly due to conflict with Slovak government on refusing military service: various activities related to (scientific) data analysis, publication, publication support during this period
  • 2000--2001 civilian service (amnesty after change of laws) at Slovak University of Agriculture (SUA=SPU=UniAg): in charge of http://bioacnet.uniag.sk, first tools for e-learning and archiving
  • 2001--present freelance analyst of complex systems: (scientific) data analysis, publication, publication support, design, development, programming and customization of various products/tools/systems mainly with Python and around Zope/Plone, R, administration & admin support for open-source operating systems (FreeBSD, OpenBSD, Linux) and applications (e.g. from GNU project)
  • November 2007--present system librarian at Slovak Agricultural Library

Some informations about Zope/Plone related activities at SUA can be found at http://fzki.uniag.sk in the ICT (IKT) section. The CMS, Zope, and Plone related resources are due to lack of the time still being moved to more appropriate locations http://cms.uniag.sk/, http://zope.uniag.sk/, and http://plone.uniag.sk/ respectively. All my stable products/tools remain available only at personal request (I realized that due to their nature - integration of different tools and services, a simple installation solution fitting a general use case might not exist). I wish to thank all of the Zope/Plone developers/supporters for their great work.
